If you delve into a certain hedge in the village of Wittering, on the second branch down, next door but one to the Wrens nest, you will perchance across a tiny Fairy Bookshop, 'The Wittering Bochord'.
Then again, Humans are not the most observant of creatures so there is a high likelihood of missing it altogether. Fairies, by their very nature, are private and not very good at marketing so the bookshop really relies on chance encounters or word of mouth support.
If you are lucky enough to discover the bookshop, you first have to get past the Dragonfly Librarian. Easily done with the gifting of a jam sandwich, and once inside you will be welcomed in by the Fairies themselves and shown the enchanting contents of the Bochord.
Filled with stories, old and new, you will find the peace and quiet only a quaint old bookshop can provide. The smell of tallow and leather bound tomes, the dust particles glinting in the candlelight, the Caterpillar serving tea in a tarnished silver teapot. (Now there's something you don't get at many bookstores these days.)

An exclusive collection of pamphlets filled with Fairy bits n bobs and once you extricate them from underneath the Pipestrelle Bat, who likes to roost on top of the precarious pile, you will discover vast amounts of information about Fairies, albeit archived and documented in a rather haphazard way. They include Fairy Spell cards, Fairy recipes and of course, historically unverified, notes on the subject - whatever that subject may be.
Also you may stumble upon a wonderfully uncomfortable chaise longue on the second floor and last time I looked, there under a bright orange cushion, you will find a parcel of my personal illustrated letters, tied up in a silver ribbon. Written to my friend and confidante Millicent, the letters date back to the early 20th century and they maybe motheaten but they are well worth a read, if I do say so myself. (I have kindly donated them to the bookshop and I really do think they should be in pride of place not shoved under a cushion, but there we are.)
The Wittering News
If you don't feel you have time to read a story, life is fleeting after all, why not pick up a copy of the Wittering News, the local Fairy Newspaper for the village of Wittering, full of snippets centring upon enchanting seasonal articles about local Fairies' proclivities. Also, if you feel the need , you can always contribute a letter to the next edition by getting in touch with the editor, who is often asleep. (That will shake them up a bit in the news office.)
New writing
Every month a new illustrated story or tale finds its way into the Wittering Bochord. So if you are quick and have timed it just right, you will be able to indulge in these exclusive reads. Be rest assured there will be stories containing Fairies, nature and magic!
Coming Soon - a short story about a certain Fairy who found true love with the aid of wildflowers.
